Synopsis

Virtual cancel is a contemporary practice that is observed and debated in all spheres of society due to its harmful potential for people and society. The main objective of this article is to present this theme clearly and eventually demonstrate the impacts of this behavior in someone's life, using a recent case published in the media. Using a balanced convergence of comparative and dialectical methodology, the article exposes the most recent dictates on the subject of jurists and scholars who discuss the subject, so that through it, one can observe the degree of dangerousness that this practice contains and that one reflects on this. Thus, it presents the legal point of view involved in this movement and how the State and the victim can deal with it, using current laws that already aim to protect the individual from any exaggerations contained in it. Finally, such a modern theme requires a language and approach compatible with its time, inserting the theme in the most relevant debates in an increasingly digital world.
